Ashlyn’s Senior Portrait Session in Downtown Fenton, MI
Ashlyn, class of 2022, met with me for her pre-session consultation in early October to plan her senior portrait session which was to occur on October 22, 2021. We decided that we would begin our shoot in downtown Fenton, and include a second location in Linden.
The weather was chilly but favorable for a portrait-session, due to a gentle sky with textured overcast. We walked around downtown (dodging the onlookers who had gathered to enjoy the Homecoming Parade) and made several stops for photos. My amazing husband, Blaine volunteered to assist me for the evening and carried my bag of equipment, and even held my reflector. He’s the best!
We photographed for approximately 30 minutes in Fenton (by which time, Ashlyn was an icicle) before we moved to Clover Beach in Linden, MI. This location was chosen for its gorgeous fall leaves, hilly landscape, and water views.
Ashlyn had selected two outfits for the session. A casual black and white outfit, and a semi-formal mini dress. Both outfits worked great with the locations we chose. I even asked her to throw on her coat for some furry-hooded wintry photos, which turned out to be some of her favorite!
Ashlyn and her parents were thrilled with the photos and had a difficult time selecting their favorite pictures during the Reveal session. I was honored to be a part of their senior portrait experience and witness their joy and satisfaction with my work. Best of all, I have made some new friends. Ashlyn and her family are such kind, friendly people.
I am so excited about the growth in downtown Fenton. With the gardens and beautiful landscaping, this will undoubtedly be my favorite place to photograph seniors!
